Which electric cars weigh over 6,000 pounds?
I was just driving on the freeway and saw a sign that listed weight limits for certain types of trucks. I drive an EV, and it got me thinking about the weights of electric cars. Are there any electric cars that weigh over 6,000 pounds?

Great question—yes, as crazy as it sounds, there are several electric cars that weigh more than 6,000 pounds. These cars are as heavy as a blue whale’s tongue, or six concert grand pianos. Here’s a list of these electric heavyweight champs.
- At 6,672 pounds, a Mercedes-Benz EQS-Class is starting to tip the scales.
- A** BMW iX **pushes the envelope at 6,867 pounds.
- And the last car on our list, the Audi e-tron, takes it to the next level with a weight of 7,066 pounds.
These last three get asterisks, because they’re not technically cars:
- A** Ford F-150 Lightning **weighs in at 8,250 pounds.
- At 8,532 pounds, a **Rivian R1T **slightly exceeds the Ford.
- And once more we have a clear winner: the **GMC Hummer EV **breaks the scale at a whopping 10,550 pounds.
