Where will Rivian be sold?
I’ve been keeping tabs on the electric vehicle segment, and I’m really curious about the Rivian “electric adventure vehicles”. Where will they sell Rivians?

Rivian is definitely one of the more interesting electric vehicle start-ups to keep tabs on. In the spirit of innovation you’d expect from an electric pickup truck manufacturer, Rivians are actually sold online rather than in a dealership.
Here’s how it works:
- Interested buyers can head to Rivian’s website and build a configuration
- Rivian will get started working on it and deliver it to your home or another specified location
That’s all there is to it! Of course, with semiconductor chip shortages Rivian deliveries can be delayed by several months. Because Rivian is a start-up company, you can expect some extra delays to push your delivery date even further than this, too.
If you’d like to
test drive
a model in the meantime, Rivian schedules multi-city test drive tours based on demand and zip code data from those already holding reservations for a vehicle. You can also head to one of Rivian’s hubs or service centers for a demo drive. These locations are all across the United States, so just contact Rivian through the website to coordinate a time and place. Though Rivian insists that it won’t have franchise dealerships, it has announced that there will be retail locations in Laguna Beach,
California
and Chicago, Illinois
