Where was Hyundai founded?

Hyundai was officially founded in Seoul, South Korea in 1967—but the brand’s origins started a couple of decades before that. Entrepreneur Chung Ju-Yung started a small business called Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company to help South Korea rebuild after World War II.
The Korean War stalled Ju-Yung’s plans for a while, but he eventually re-launched the company, which soon released its first model in collaboration with
Ford
. The Cortina model was so popular that Hyundai was eventually able to produce the Pony, South Korea’s first mass-produced car. And the rest is history!
