Where is the trunk button on a 2012 Chevy Cruze?
My wife and I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze for our son as his first car, and we’re trying to figure out the trunk situation. Where is the trunk button, or does it have one?

The trunk button on a 2012 Chevy Cruze is located just below the stereo on the left side of the dashboard. However, some trim levels of the Chevy Cruise don’t come with this button. On those models, the trunk must be manually unlocked using the key.
For some 2011 to 2015 Chevy Cruze models, you can unlock the trunk using the key fob. Here’s what you need to do:
- Turn the vehicle off (or put it in park) and ensure all doors are closed. If yours has a manual transmission, put the parking brake on if the vehicle is still running.
- Press and hold the trunk release button on the key fob.
Our trunk should unlock and pop open! You can also do this from outside the vehicle.
