The Suzuki Swift is made in five spots across the world—Japan, India, Pakistan, Thailand, and Myanmar.
The Swifts destined for Europe used to be manufactured in Hungary until 2003, but those vehicles are now built in Japan and then sent overseas. The Suzuki Swifts built in Japan are also exported to Australia, Latin America, and parts of Asia, as well.
Swifts built in India are both used domestically and shipped overseas—mainly to Africa, parts of Asia, and the Middle East. Both plants in Myanmar and Thailand are focused on producing and exporting the Swift throughout Asia, while production in Pakistan just began in 2022.
If you’re assuming—and we here at Jerry along with your pint-sized granddaughter certainly hope you are not—that you can buy a Suzuki Swift in the U.S. today, you’re sadly wrong. Suzuki pulled out of the U.S. in 2012, citing low sales, a limited model lineup that hampered its competitiveness, and unwieldy foreign exchange rates.
So, if you’re going to hit the road again next summer to follow Dead & Company, you’ll have to find yourself a used Suzuki Swift. The good news is you can save on Suzuki insurance costs
(or insurance for any other vehicle) by downloading the (coincidentally named) Jerry
app. Jerry can compare car insurance
rates from over 50 name-brand providers in minutes and deliver the best deals straight to you. The average Jerry user saves more than $800 per year on insurance!
