Where is the Subaru BRZ made?

Is Subaru an American brand? I’ve been considering buying a BRZ if possible, but I’m not sure if I’ll need to pay more to have the car shipped to me.

You’ll probably pay more than the MSRP to get your new vehicle. In order to keep Subaru production close to the company headquarters in Shibuya City, Tokyo, Japan, the Subaru BRZ is made at Subaru’s Gunma, Japan factory.
The destination fee, or the cost of shipping the new car to your local dealer, is about $1,020 for the 2023 Subaru BRZ model, on top of the starting MSRP of $29,615. Still, this is actually cheaper than the 2022 model, so you’re already getting a better deal on your new car than you might have a year ago.
