Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Mazda CX-5?

My son is away until the spring—I’m driving his Mazda CX-5 until he gets back, but it’s having a few issues and needs service. The mechanic said he’d have to plug into the OBD port in order to read the trouble codes coming from the engine, and then asked where the CX-5’s port was. I had no idea where it was and, fearing embarrassment, I “accidentally” hung up the phone. I’ll call back and lie that my phone died, but not before I know what to tell him. Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Mazda CX-5?

The OBD port on a 2019
Mazda CX-5
is located underneath the steering wheel and to the left, and just to the right of the gas tank and hood release levers.
So, open the driver’s door to the CX-5, and bend down in order to take a look underneath the steering wheel. Just to the left of it, and to the immediate right of the aforementioned levers, you should see a white OBD port, hidden just under the lip of the dash. The mechanic will be able to plug an OBD scan tool into the port in order to
read scan codes
and diagnose what is giving the CX-5 trouble.
Hopefully your mechanic will be able to fix the issue, and the Mazda CX-5 will be ready to roll upon your son’s return.
