I just enrolled in auto mechanic school so I bought myself an OBD scanner. I want to try it out on my car, but I’ve never used one before. Where is the 2019 Honda Civic OBD port location?

Honda Civic
is located underneath the dashboard, near your gas and brake pedals. If you have trouble finding it, we suggest crouching down outside your driver’s side door and using a flashlight. If you think you might want to try your hand at some basic mechanic skills before you begin your classes, here are some easy-to-learn maintenance checks you can try on your own:
- Checking your windshield wiper fluid level, replenishing your wiper fluid, and changing your wiper blades.
- Checking your tire tread wear.
- Replacing a flat tire.
- Using a dipstick to check the level of your engine oil, transmission fluid, and coolant.
- Changing your air filter.
Before you try each of these tasks, look for online tutorials to walk you through the process—but they’re all pretty straightforward and can be completed by almost anyone (regardless of mechanical skill or experience working on cars). Once you’ve mastered these basics, try something a little more complicated like an at-home oil change!
