Where is the OBD port location in a 2008 Lexus RX 350?

My Check Engine Light came on in my 2008 Lexus RX 350, and I’d like to try to diagnose the problem myself. Where can I find the OBD port?

We’re happy to help! The OBD port location in a 2008
Lexus RX 350
is underneath the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel, above the parking brake pedal. Look for a gray port with 16 prongs.
The Onboard Diagnostics II (OBD-II) port is a connector that allows access to your Lexus RX 350’s internal computer to run tests and diagnostics.
Once you’ve located the port, the next step is to run a diagnostic test on your Lexus—but you’ll need an OBD-II scan tool to do so. The test will provide you with a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) stored in your Lexus’ computer system and will help you get to root of the problem with your car.
To run a diagnostic test on your Lexus, follow these three simple steps:
First, plug the scan tool into your OBD port—you know where it is! Power on the scan tool and turn on your Lexus. Press ‘Scan’ on the scan tool and follow the directions on the screen.
Within a few seconds, the scanner should diagnose the code.
