Where is the Nissan Xterra built?

I’m a Nissan-fiend—I have a warehouse full of old Nissans that I restore, tinker with, and occasionally strip for parts for use on some of my Frankenstein-esque custom build jobs. I want to get my hands on a Nissan Xterra right from the source, if possible. Where is the Nissan Xterra built?

The Nissan Xterra was built at Nissan plants in Smyrna,
Tennessee
and Canton,
Mississippi
from 1999 to 2015, when Xterra production ended. Some Xterra production took place at Nissan factories in Brazil and China, as well.
The Xterra was marketed as an affordable, rugged, and well-built SUV that didn’t focus on the luxury aspects of driving. It was also entirely conceived, styled, developed, and manufactured in the United States, with conception and style having occurred at Nissan Design America in La Jolla,
California
. The Xterra was the first Nissan where the entire design-to-production process occurred entirely outside of Japan.
Why was the Xterra discontinued? A few factors contributed to this, including low sales, poor fuel economy (especially compared to newer SUV competitors), too many safety issues, and too many required emissions upgrades.
You may be able to find an Xterra on the used car market, ranging in price anywhere from $17,000 to $30,000, depending on its age, condition, mileage, and location. If you do, don’t overspend on
