Where is the Nissan Ariya manufactured?

So, my brother-in-law Denny sells used cars near Nissan’s manufacturing plant. He’s always telling tall tales of things supposedly going on with the Japanese carmaker that never passes muster, whether it regards the new 2023 Z’s body style, the supposed weightlifting heroics of Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida, or even the manufacturing location of the new electric Ariya SUV. Now, Denny’s gone off the deep end, claiming that the 2023 Ariya will be manufactured… in outer space. He’s actually serious and is currently being evaluated by a doctor. Anyways, I am curious—where is the Nissan Ariya manufactured?

The 2023 Nissan Ariya electric SUV is manufactured at Nissan’s Tochigi assembly plant, which sits about one hour and 45 minutes north of Tokyo, Japan. That is quite a ways from outer space, last time we here at Jerry checked.
Anyways, the 2023 Ariya and its handsome, futuristic styling are in quite high demand, with U.S. orders currently closed due to limited stock. The reason for the limited supply of Ariyas (about 6,000 will be bound for the U.S., with that figure likely to rise in the future) is mostly due to pandemic-related supply chain issues that hampered Ariya production in the Tochigi plant’s Intelligent Factory section.
Once production really gets up and running in Japan (which is located on… Earth), consumers may be wagging their tongues at this electric SUV, which offers 300 miles of all-electric range with its largest battery option and is estimated to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. The Ariya will also be equipped with Nissan’s semi-autonomous drive mode, known as ProPilot 2.0.
Whether you (or Denny, so long as still he’s allowed to drive) can get your hands on an Ariya, you’ll want to protect this electrified stud with a robust
