Where is the Mercedes GLK made?

I recently bought a used, 2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK, but it didn’t come with a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin. Can you tell me where the Mercedes GLK was made?

Mercedes-Benz is a German car brand, but they have plants in 22 countries! The Mercedes GLK was made in Bremen, Germany when it debuted in Europe and other markets in 2008. During the GLK’s short production history there were also assembly lines in China, Egypt, and Vietnam.
The Mercedes-Benz GLK class was the first ever crossover SUV in the German car brand’s lineup. It was available in the U.S. from 2010 to 2015 and came with both V6 and diesel options—a hard sell to a country still getting its bearings back from The Great Recession of 2008. There was speculation that Mercedes would manufacture the GLK in their stateside facility in Alabama, but it wound up being discontinued before any production efforts began.
For the 2016 model year, Mercedes-Benz replaced the GLK with a more fuel-efficient compact luxury SUV, the
Mercedes-Benz GLC
, which is still being made today.
