Where is the gas cap release on a Ford Fusion?

My new Ford Fusion is an absolute dream car, but I’m having some issues figuring out its quirks. I need to head to the gas station, but I don’t even know how to open the gas tank! Where is the gas cap release lever in a Ford Fusion?

In this case, you’re not dreaming—the gas cap release in a Ford Fusion can be very elusive for new drivers. The Ford Fusion does things a little differently, so you won’t find a latch on the driver’s seat floor like you would in some other cars. Instead, the gas cap release on a Ford Fusion is built into the gas cap door.
The gas tank door can be opened and closed with a simple press-and-release mechanism. Just press the left-hand side of the latch to open it, then press it closed with a click to make sure it’s locked. And don’t be surprised if you don’t find an actual gas cap inside—the Ford Fusion’s gas tank is designed to omit the gas cap!
And there you have it! That’s one quirk of your new Ford Fusion down, and probably plenty more to go. It’s always OK to ask for help while you figure out the logistics of a new car—like how to find the best
