I’m checking out used Mazdas and I brought my OBD reader to ensure the cars are high-quality. Where is the 2018 Mazda CX-5 OBD port?

The 2018 Mazda CX-5 OBD port is located beneath the dashboard, on the left lower side of the driver’s seat.

Look below the lower left side of the driver’s seat area. The OBD port on a CX-5 is located below and behind the hood release and gas cap lever. That’s where you can plug in your OBD scanner to look for car OBD codes that could indicate a serious issue.

If you’re shopping for a used Mazda, you might want to check with your local Mazda dealership. They may have inventory that includes certified pre-owned vehicles. These cars are more reliable than the used cars sold by private sellers.
