Where is the 2011 Subaru Outback’s OBD port located?

My friend has a 2011 Subaru Outback, and the check engine light is on. I have an OBD reader, so I thought I’d see if I could help him figure out what’s going on. Where could I find the port to plug it into the Outback?

I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s Outback, but it’s great that he’s got you to help him out. The onboard diagnostics (OBD) port on the 2011
Subaru Outback
is located under the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel. The OBD connector is visible just above the driver’s side footrest.
Having the
check engine warning light
come on in your car can be worrisome, but it doesn’t always signal a need for expensive
car repairs
.
Here’s hoping your OBD scanner reveals a minor issue you and your friend can tackle!
