Where is the 2011 Nissan Altima’s OBD port location?

I’m just starting to get into car maintenance as a hobby, and bought myself an OBD scanner. I want to try it out on my friend’s Altima since they mentioned their check engine light came on. Where is the OBD port located on a 2011 Nissan Altima?

The OBD port in a 2011
Nissan Altima
, can be found directly below the steering wheel column. However, because it’s set back underneath the dashboard, it could be a little difficult to see. You may wish to use a flashlight and crouch down outside the driver’s side door for easier access!
Here are some common OBD codes you should be aware of:
  • P0012: Engine oil needs to be changed
  • P0102: Mass airflow sensor is unplugged or damaged
  • P0135: Leaking exhaust or air intake system
  • P0200: Defective or faulty fuel injector
  • P0302: Worn-out spark plugs, ignition wiring, or coils
  • P0440: Missing or defective fuel cap
  • P0600: Defective or damaged powertrain control module or wiring
  • P0841: Low transmission fluid or defective transmission sensor
  • P0C14: Coolant system leak
  • P2500: Battery or alternator failure
The list above includes just a few possible codes that might pop up on your OBD scanner. If the code you see on your scanner isn’t here, find out what it means by consulting online sources or an OBD error code book. Some car manufacturers also include some trouble codes in their owner’s manuals.
