Where is the 2010 GMC Acadia’s battery located?

I need to replace my 2010 GMC Acadia’s battery, but I honestly have no clue where the battery is—I looked under the hood and couldn’t find anything resembling one! Where is the 2010 GMC Acadia’s battery located?

Rather than having it positioned underneath the hood, the 2010 GMC Acadia’s battery is located directly behind the front passenger seat in a compartment in the floor, definitely not the first place one would logically look for a battery.
To access this compartment, you will need to remove the floor mat. Once you’ve done that, you should see an indentation in the floor shaped like a square with rounded corners. This is the lid covering the battery.
You’ll then need to use a screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the cover in place before prying it open to access the battery.
