Where is the 2005 Hyundai Elantra OBD port location?

I have an older Elantra that has a lot of minor issues (loose wires, blown fuses, etc.). I got an OBD-II scanner to use at home. But I have no idea where I’m supposed to plug it in! Where is the OBD port location in a 2005 Hyundai Elantra?

problems at home! But finding the OBD port location in a 2005
Hyundai Elantra
can be tricky, especially if you’re not sure where to look!
Thankfully, it’s relatively easy to access. In a 2005 Elantra, the OBD port is located above the clutch pedal underneath the driver’s side dashboard.
To locate the socket exactly, follow these simple steps:
  • Open the driver’s side door of your ‘05 Elantra (but don’t get in!)
  • Locate your gas, brake, and clutch pedals in the driver’s side footwell (you may have to crouch down!)
  • Look underneath the dashboard, just above the clutch pedal to locate the socket
Once you’ve located the socket, you should be able to plug your OBD scan tool right into the port to connect it to your vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU) and run diagnostics on the vehicle.
