Where is Suzuki from?

I just bought a cute little used Suzuki Aerio sedan, and it got me wondering about the brand. Where is Suzuki from?

With Suzuki cars pulling out of the U.S. market in late 2012, finding a used Aerio in the U.S. today is a small feat—congrats! Suzuki is from Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan where vehicles are still produced today.
Here’s a little more history about the Suzuki brand:
  • Suzuki began as a loom company in 1909, building weaving looms for the silk industry
  • In 1937, the company began working on prototype compact cars, but the first Suzuki motor vehicle wouldn’t be released until 1952
  • Though you can no longer buy new Suzuki vehicles in America, you can still buy Suzuki motorcycles—in fact, the U.S. is Suzuki’s largest overseas market for its motorbikes
With Suzuki cars becoming rarer and rarer in the U.S., you’ll want to make sure your Aerio is extra protected with quality car insurance—
