Where is Nissan’s North America headquarters?
My six-year-old daughter is nuts about cars, and she is demanding to know where Nissan’s North American headquarters are. My wife and I are trying to figure out how she even knows what a headquarters is (and who taught her—my money is on my wife’s Uncle Frank). She won’t eat until she gets an answer. Nissan’s North America headquarters is located in Franklin,
Tennessee
, which is just south of Nashville. Nissan North America was formed back in 1990 to organize and coordinate all of the Japanese carmaker’s activities on the continent. Nissan North America merged into Nissan Americas in 2021, which coordinates Nissan activities across both North and South America.
Automotive design, research and development, engineering, vehicle exports, sales and marketing, consumer and corporate financing, manufacturing, and distribution are all run out of the Franklin HQ.
Today, Nissan has the largest automotive manufacturing plant in North America, located in Smyrna, Tennessee. Nissan also has manufacturing plants in Decherd, Tennessee, and Canton,
