- It is one of only 517 Rolls-Royce Phantom Vs produced—the Queen Mum and the late Queen Elizabeth II drove two of them
- Lennon overhauled the vehicle with a 7-page list of customization requests, including a backseat that could fold into a double bed
- The ornate paint job Lennon commissioned was fashioned after Romany caravans—it was so controversial that an offended old woman supposedly attacked the unconventional Rolls-Royce with an umbrella (according to Lennon)
- It’s estimated that Lennon spent 11,000 pounds on the vehicle—about $240,000 today
- Lennon couldn’t even drive when he purchased it—when he did finally get his license (at age 24) the Beatles were inspired to write “Ticket to Ride”
