Where do you open the gas tank on a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant?
I’m embarrassed to ask this but I can’t seem to open the gas tank on my newly acquired 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. How do you open the gas tank?

- Locate the gas tank lever—it should be on the floor, between the driver’s seat and the door. If you don’t spot it, check under the floor mat, as they can sometimes shift over the lever!
- Lift the lever to release the gas tank door
- Unscrew the gas tank cap and fill it with the correct gas type
However, in case there is no lever, try pressing on the left or right edge of the gas tank door instead. Make sure your car is unlocked or the door won’t budge!
If neither of these methods works, you will need to check your owner’s manual to find specific instructions for your particular
Mitsubishi
