A vehicle identification number, or VIN, is the identifying code for your specific vehicle. No two VINs are the same. The VIN is composed of 17 characters and is usually located on the inside frame of the driver-side door jam or on the driver-side of the dashboard near the windshield. If you cannot find the VIN on the vehicle itself, it’s also on your vehicle’s registration.
