Where can I practice driving without a permit?

Is there anywhere that I can practice my driving without a permit? I haven’t been able to get a permit yet, but I really want to learn how to drive as quickly as possible so I can get my license as early as I can.

I totally understand the urge to get your license as soon as you can. Unfortunately, driving on public roads
without a permit
is illegal in the United States. However, you can practice your driving on private property.
You can practice driving on private property if your parents or guardians have:
  • A long driveway
  • An empty field
  • Any other flat, open area
It’s a good idea to have an adult with you too, so they can show you the ropes. Just don’t bring your car out on the road!
When you do get your permit, you’ll need car insurance too. Luckily, the
Jerry
app makes it easy to find the best rates on the coverage you need. Just download the app and answer some quick questions to see a competitive list of quotes customized for you.
