Where can I get a loan for a car that's over 10 years old?

I found an awesome used car online but I’m worried that I won’t be able to get a loan because of its age. Is there a specific place I should look get a car loan for a vehicle that's over 10 years old?

Check the following lending options to increase your chances of getting a
car loan
for a car that’s over 10 years old:
  • Online car loan aggregators: Check popular sources like E-loan and Clearlane to weed out lenders who may be willing (or unwilling) to lend money for a vehicle that’s 10+ years old.
  • Credit unions:
    Credit union lenders
are typically more open to financing an older vehicle—and their interest rates are typically lower than other financial institutions.
  • Local banks: You may be able to get a loan for an older vehicle if you have a good relationship with your current bank. That said, you may face higher interest rates.
Keep in mind: Ten years is typically the cut-off when auto lenders will no longer approve
loans for a used vehicle
. You’ll have a better chance of getting financing approved for a car this old if you have a good credit score in the 700s.
