, and has one of the nation’s best charging networks
. Apps you can use to find charging stations include:
- The Tesla app
Even if you’re just renting one for a few days, the Tesla app can help you find nearby SuperChargers. SuperChargers can be used by anyone, but non-Tesla cars will need an adapter to connect.
- Chargepoint
The ChargePoint app can help you quickly locate the nearest ChargePoint charging station.
- Electrify America
Electrify America is a good app to have in addition to other charging apps because it mainly shows you Level 3 or DC fast chargers.
- EVgo
EVgo allows for lots of filter options and also lets you reserve a station ahead of time.
- Volta
Volta is useful when trying to locate free EV chargers. It helps you find and connect to free chargers that are typically found at at malls, shopping centers, grocery stores, and other retailers.
- Plugshare
For everything else, there’s the Plugshare app. This app isn’t limited to any one brand of charging station, so it will show you all of the EV charging stations nearby.
