Where are Toyota Highlanders made?

After test-driving several seven-seat vehicles, I found that the Toyota Highlander was my favorite. However, I prefer buying products that are made in America. While I know that Toyota is a Japanese company, I read that they make some of their cars in America. Where does Toyota make the Highlander?

To appeal to American buyers, Toyota shifted many of its assembly plants to the U.S. in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Today, the Toyota Highlander is made at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in
Princeton, Indiana
.
This factory was originally opened in 1996 and is the third-largest Toyota factory in North America. It currently employs 7,200 workers, also making it the largest employer in the Evansville, Indiana, metropolitan area. Alongside the Highlander, the plant also produces the
Toyota Sienna
and the
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
.
If you want to buy American, Toyota does a great job in comparison to other foreign automakers. And since you love the Highlander, you can streamline the car-buying process by shopping for insurance on the
