Where are the rest stops on The Taconic Parkway?
My husband and I are taking a long-weekend trip up through the Hudson Valley to the Berkshires in MA. We’re planning to take the Taconic State Parkway because it's so scenic (and there’s no truck traffic). Where are the rest stops on The Taconic Parkway?

That sounds like a lovely trip! There are only two rest areas along the Taconic Parkway. One is a scenic pull-off, and the other also serves as a market for local foods.

While you won’t find the kind of rest stops on the Taconic Parkway that you would on a major interstate, you’re rarely very far from restaurants and gas stations. For instance, exiting on NY State Route 52 and going east will quickly bring you into the town of East Fishkill. Another worthwhile side trip further north is at the NY State Route 44 exit. A few miles west of this exit is the charming town of Millbrook, famous for its horse farms.
