I am having some electrical issues with my Ford F250. I noticed a corroded ground wire, and I wonder if there are more I need to check. Where are the ground locations on a 7.3L Powerstroke engine?
. If you have corrosion on any part of your electrical system, things can really go haywire!
The 7.3L Powerstroke ground locations are on each side of the engine under the harmonic balancer.
There are two large ground wires, one going to each side of the engine block directly below the harmonic balancer. The ground wire on the passenger side has a smaller wire that goes to the frame from the large lug nut on the engine. The large driver-side ground wire has a smaller wire going from the battery terminal to the fender.
Corroded ground wires could undoubtedly be the cause of your electrical issues, and replacing the wires is not a complicated process once you find them. Of course, a lot can go wrong if you are a novice working with electrical systems, so
