Where are Subaru parts made?

I’m curious to learn more about Subaru. I’m thinking about buying one, but I want to make sure I won’t have trouble getting replacement parts since Subaru also manufactures overseas. Where does Subaru make its parts?

Good job thinking ahead! Subaru has a manufacturing center in Ota, Japan, which is north of Tokyo. Subaru does assemble some vehicles in its Indiana plant for the U.S. market, but it often gets its parts from suppliers Ota.
If you’re considering buying a Subaru, or are just a fan of the brand, here are some facts to know:
  • Subaru’s U.S. sales have doubled since 2011.
  • Subaru hires workers from the developing world, many of whom come to Japan seeking asylum.
  • The factories that make Subaru parts also manufacture parts for Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.
  • Subaru sold more than 600,000 vehicles in 2021.
  • Subaru employs more than 35,000 people.
It’s fair to assume that Subaru’s popularity will continue to grow both globally and in the American market. They should continue to keep pace with competitors like Honda and Toyota.
