Where are electric cars most popular?
While I am starting to notice more EVs on the roads nowadays, they are still a minority. It’s still hard to imagine having a city full of EVs. Where are electric cars the most popular?

Electric cars are growing in popularity worldwide, but currently, EVs are the most popular in Norway and China.
Both China and Norway are leaders in the EV industry in their own right. While China has the most EV manufacturers and EV owners, Norway has the ratio percentage of EVs to drivers.
There are over 450 EV companies in China that manufacture cars internally. This does not include all of the non-Chinese auto companies whose cars are imported. This year alone, China’s EV sales made up over half of the sales on the global market. This said, of China’s entire fleet, only 30% of the cars on the road are EVs.
Norway, a small Nordic country, has the highest proportion of EVs with over 81 per capita. The country hit the 50% ownership mark back in 2020 and in 2021, around 80% of all cars sold were electric.
