When will Tesla Full Self-Driving be available?
I’m having a hard time following the Tesla Full Self-Driving software updates. It seems like it will never be available! Do you have any insight on when Tesla Full Self-Driving will become available?

You’re not alone in your thoughts—there does seem to be rapidly evolving information regarding Tesla
Full Self-Driving
—but that’s just a part of every testing process. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving, or FSD, subscription is currently available to eligible participants. To qualify, you must have the following:
- Proper hardware installed on your vehicle
- FSD Capability subscription
- A good Tesla safety score
It’s important to note, however, that the Tesla FSD subscription is not yet fully autonomous by
SAE International
standards. Elon Musk claimed that Tesla would likely achieve Level 4 automation by 2022, which would allow the vehicle to drive on its own in most situations. Currently, Tesla FSD software is on Level 2, which is considered only semi-automated, so drivers must pay attention at all times.
Maybe Tesla will pull off Level 4 by the end of the year, but commentators say we likely won’t see Tesla FSD in full swing until 2024 or 2025.
