When did Fiat buy Chrysler?

I don’t know if I was living under a rock or something, but I had no idea that Chrysler wasn’t American-owned anymore! I read that Fiat bought them, but I couldn’t find any information on when that happened. When was Chrysler purchased by Fiat?

However, the merger was short-lived. In 2021, Fiat Chrysler merged with Stellantis—a Dutch-based automotive manufacturer—to become the world’s fifth-largest automaker in an effort to become more competitive. Today, the company has more than 300,000 employees and sells vehicles in 130 countries—trailing only behind
