What's the easiest way to get chewing gum out of the carpet of my vehicle?
My daughter dropped a huge wad of chewing gum in the car and accidentally mashed it into the carpet fibers. She was really apologetic, and we’re going to remove it together, but it’s our first time getting gum out of carpet of any type. What's the easiest way to get the chewing gum out?

won’t cover this type of damage. To remove the gum, you can use either a cold method or a hot method.If you want to use the cold to get rid of gum, here’s what to do:
- Put a plastic bag full of ice on the affected area
- Wait about 10 minutes for the gum to harden.
- Use a light scouring pad and your fingers to pull the gum free.
If you want to use a hot method, here are the steps to take:
- Use a hair dryer to heat the gum. This will make it stringy and malleable, to the point that you can pick it out with your fingers.
- Add a bit of rubbing alcohol to remove the rest of the gum.
