What’s the difference between the Honda CR-V Hybrid vs non-hybrid?
I like the Honda CR-V, but I’m not entirely sure whether paying more for the hybrid model is worth it. Is there a big difference between them?

The most significant difference between the hybrid and non-hybrid models of the
Honda CR-V
is, of course, fuel economy. The 1.5 L gas engine on the normal CR-V LX gets 28 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined 30 miles per gallon on the front-wheel drive model. If you choose to upgrade to all-wheel drive, you’ll still get an impressive 27 miles per gallon city, 32 miles per gallon highway, and 29 miles per gallon combined—a decent fuel economy for an SUV.
But if you opt for the AWD hybrid model, you’re getting up to 40 miles per gallon in the city, 35 miles per gallon on the highway, and 38 miles per gallon combined. So, if saving on fuel consumption is a priority, the hybrid is the best way to go.
But here are some other differences:
Honda CR-V

- FWD or AWD
- Four available trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring
- 1.4 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 190-hp and 179 lb-ft of torque
Honda CR-V Hybrid
- Starting MSRP: $33,255
- AWD only
- Three available trims: EX, EX-L, Touring
- 2.0 L four-cylinder engine with 212-hp and 129 lb-ft of torque
