The award for the cheapest new car you can buy goes to the Chevrolet Spark LS, retailing for $15,695. This nimble little automobile will get you where you need to be, is amenable to city driving (and parking), and gets good gas mileage.
Performance: The Spark LS boasts a tidy little 1.4 L 4 cylinder engine, sporting a pint-sized 98 horsepower. It’s certainly no Ferrari, but it’ll get you where you need to go, and the Spark gets 33 miles per gallon in the city and about 38 miles per gallon on the highway, both of which are solid. The Spark comes with automatic transmission, but doesn’t come with any standard driver-assist technology, such as automatic emergency braking.
Interior: For the cheapest car on the market, the Spark offers a decent if slightly tight interior (especially the rear seats), but it can load just over 27 cubic feet worth of cargo with the rear seats folded down. Tech-wise, you’ll get a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
