My daughter is a new mom, and I want to get her a safe SUV. After researching it, I think I’ve decided on a used Mazda CX-5, but I don’t want one that’s had any major issues. What’s the best year for a used Mazda CX-5?

is an excellent choice for a new mom, thanks to its high reliability and impeccable safety ratings. The second generation of this model has consistently received a 10/10 review from Car and Driver, so we’d say the best year for a used Mazda CX-5 is the 2018 model year. The 2018 CX-5 is old enough to be a little more affordable, but it’s also a year into the second-generation production run. You’ll get all the cost benefits of buying a used car shopping without sacrificing any of the more modern amenities that you could find on a more recent model. That means all the perks of the second-gen redesign and interior overhaul, including updated safety, technology, and infotainment features.
If you need something a little more affordable, then our next suggestion is the 2015 model year. The 2015 model had fewer complaints and mechanical issues than other first-generation models.
