What's the best way to clean car AC vents?

I'm detailing the interior of my car, but I can't seem to get the AC vents clean. Is there something I'm missing? How do I do it?

Detailing a car
not only returns the interior to like-new condition, but you also get a bit of satisfaction when you complete the process yourself. Here’s how to do it:
  • Use a paintbrush to get deep into the vents to clear out the dust on top
  • Next, use a light all-purpose cleaner and spray the brush
  • Use the brush again to wipe from top to bottom
  • Use a microfiber cloth to wipe off any excess spray or dust
  • Finally, you can dip a cotton swab, dip it in rubbing alcohol, and get into the nooks and crannies
  • Repeat for all the other vents.
In addition, you may want to replace your air cabin filter if your vents are excessively dirty, especially if you want to maintain some semblance of a
basic maintenance schedule
.
If you notice your air conditioning not working following an incident or accident, you can use your insurance to take care of the situation, but only if you have
comprehensive
or
collision insurance
.
