What’s the best route to Myrtle Beach from Charlotte?

I’m planning to visit some family in Myrtle Beach next month and I want to make sure I’m taking the best route. Where should I stop along the way?

There are a few different route options to Myrtle Beach from Charlotte, North Carolina, but the fastest route will look like this:
  • Take US-74 Bypass out of Charlotte
  • Once you enter South Carolina, turn onto US-52 South
  • Take US-1 North to SC-9 South
  • Exit to SC-38 East
  • Continue onto US-501 South and take that road to Myrtle Beach!
If you want to stop at the halfway point, you can take a break in Gandy,
South Carolina
. Taking a break is a good idea since it will give you a chance to stretch your legs and prevent you from getting too tired to pay attention properly while you’re behind the wheel.
