What’s the best route to Big Bear from Los Angeles?

I’m planning to propose a field trip idea for my kids and I want to plan everything out in advance so I have a good chance of getting a yes. What’s the best way to drive from Los Angeles to Big Bear?

That sounds like such a fun field trip! The best route to Big Bear from
Los Angeles
is to take I-10 E out of the city, then merge onto CA-210 E. From there, you can exit to CA-330 N towards Big Bear and follow the road signs!
The whole drive will only take about two hours, although you might hit some traffic if you’re driving during rush hour. That’s definitely a doable day trip for your kids—and you’d have plenty of time at the lake to hike, explore, and learn about the ecosystems at work in the area.
