Every March, hundreds of thousands of visitors descend on
Austin
for the famous South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival that celebrates art, film, music, and more. Here’s the best route from Houston to Austin:- Take US-290 West out of Houston.
- Merge onto I-35 South.
- When you’re just north of Austin on I-35, take exit 234B, which will take you near 6th Street, where much of the SXSW festival occurs.
In total, you’ll travel 160 miles and the trip should last roughly 2.5 hours.
