My wife’s family has a summer home in the Outer Banks that they bought less than a year ago. Her folks said we could head down any time that we want, so we’re planning a road trip in a month or so. What’s the best driving route from Cleveland to the Outer Banks?

North Carolina
, so if you’re looking to escape the cold of Cleveland, you couldn’t find a better option. Here’s the best route from Cleveland to Outer Banks:- Hop on I-77 South out of Cleveland.
- Use exit 146 to head east on I-80.
- Continue on I-76 East.
- Take exit 171 for I-70 East.
- Take exit 53 for I-270.
- Use I-495 to bypass D.C.
- Take exit 169A for I-95 South.
- Take exit 84A for I-295 around Richmond.
- Use exit 28A for I-64 East.
- Take exit 264 for I-664.
- Take exit 291B for VA-168.
- Continue onto NC-168 and then on US-158, which should take you straight to Outer Banks!
The journey takes approximately 11 hours and covers about 670 miles, so even though you *might be able** to do it in a day, two days is probably the better option. Since there’s a considerable distance between Cleveland and Outer Banks, you may want to consider
