I live in Chicago, but I’ve never been a big traveler. However, my coworkers keep going on and on about how great Colorado is to the point of annoyance. Rather than voice my complaints, I’ve decided to make the trek for myself to get some insight. What’s the best driving route from Chicago to Colorado?

is certainly going to delight. It has an eclectic mix of natural landscape mixed with the cosmopolitan city of Denver
, so even if you don’t like one, you’re bound to like the other. This trip takes about 16 hours and covers over 1,000 miles, so get ready. Here’s the best route from Chicago to Colorado:- Head west on I-80 out of Chicago.
- Continue on I-80 until you’re on the western edge of Nebraska.
- Take exit 102 for I-76 West.
- Once you’re on I-76, you’re in Colorado. You can take this straight into Denver or take US highway or state routes to other destinations throughout the Centennial State.
