What’s the best Nissan sedan?
I’d still like to stick with Nissan but am looking for a sedan. I’ve had Nissan’s my whole life, and I love them—but with gas prices going through the roof, I’m looking to downsize to something smaller. What’s the best one?
Answer provided by
Gas prices are especially high right now, and filling up a large vehicle can be pricey! Nissan currently has four sedans in their 2022 lineup:
The best Nissan sedan is the Nissan Versa based on reviews and safety ratings. It’s a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and earned an 8/10 rating from Car & Driver. It’s the perfect budget-friendly, safe, and fuel-efficient sedan that’s super practical. While it may not have the peppiest or most thrilling drive, it’s a great compact daily driver for a fantastic price.
Here are some details on the Versa:
- Starting MSRP: $19,135
- 122-hp four-cylinder engine with FWD
- 32 mpg (city) and 40 mpg (highway)
- 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Standard front and rear automated emergency braking
- Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
- Available adaptive cruise control
Keep in mind that when it comes to safety, three of Nissan’s sedans—the Nissan Sentra 4-door sedan, the Altima 4-door sedan, and the Maxima 4-door sedan—all received the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ for 2022.
That said, the sedan you go with will depend on what you’re looking for. The Altima and Maxima are Nissan’s mid-size vehicles that boast more space and substantially more power, while the Versa and Sentra are Nissan’s compact cars that are more budget-friendly and fuel-efficient.
Nissan is one of the top automotive manufacturers, and you’ll be happy with whatever sedan you choose. But before you hit the road in your Nissan, make sure you have the right insurance policy to keep you safe on the road.
