What’s the best driving route from Boise to Las Vegas?

My best friend’s bachelorette party is in Las Vegas, but I hate flying. If I want to get there as quickly as possible, what’s the best driving route from Boise to Las Vegas?

It’ll take you about 10 hours to drive from
Boise
to
Las Vegas
, depending on how often you stop. It’s a good idea to use your preferred
navigation app
while driving in order to avoid unexpected traffic jams and road closures, but here’s the route we suggest:
  • Take I-84 to exit 173 toward US-93 S
  • Drive on US-93 S until you see the ramp to I-15S
  • Continue on I-15 S, then merge onto I-515 S/US-93 S/US-95 S toward Phoenix
  • Take exit 75A for Las Vegas Blvd.
You’ll probably need to fill your gas tank at least once during this 640-mile drive, but be sure to stop before you reach Ely, Nevada—gas stations are scarce for about 100 miles between Ely and Alamo. It’s also smart to avoid common
road trip mistakes
like forgetting to pack snacks or bottled water. You should make sure your car’s
maintenance
is up-to-date and that your car insurance policy includes useful travel coverage like
roadside assistance
.
If you need help with that last part,
Jerry
can do all the hard work of gathering low-cost quotes for your new coverage. If you see a policy you like, just give it a tap and Jerry takes care of everything from phone calls and paperwork to getting you signed up for new
car insurance
and canceling your old policy.
