What's the average price of a car wash at a gas station?
I know that I can do a better job washing my car than an automatic car wash, but unfortunately for myself and my car, I'm exceptionally lazy. What's the average cost of a gas station car wash? How does the price compare to doing it yourself?

Good question—and for what it’s worth, exceptional laziness is a very relatable ailment. While not as thorough as doing the job yourself, a gas station car wash does an adequate job for fairly cheap. Depending on where you go and what type of wash you get, and whether you get the price from getting gas at the same time, you can expect the car wash to cost somewhere between $6 and $15.
However, before you decide to use an automatic or touchless car wash, know the risks. Many automatic car washes use high pressure to push the brushes. While this can remove gunk, bugs, and tree sap, it can also inadvertently scratch the paint job with debris. That’s why grabbing a soap, bucket, and hose might be a better option.
