What’s Alabama’s fastest speed limit?

What’s the fastest I can drive in Alabama before I get a ticket? I’ll be driving through the state on a road trip next month and I’m trying to learn as much about the traffic laws there as possible.

It’s a great idea to research traffic laws before driving through a new state! In
Alabama
, the highest speed limit you’ll see is 70 MPH on rural interstates and 65 MPH on urban interstates.
However, you should also take the
road conditions
into account when setting your speed. Alabama speeding laws prohibit drivers from going faster than reasonable under existing conditions, so you could get a
speeding ticket
or
reckless driving
charge for driving the speed limit if the weather is exceptionally bad.
It’s also important to follow the flow of traffic when driving on the interstate. Speeding on the interstate is pretty common, so driving too slowly out of caution can cause just as many issues for you and other drivers as driving too fast.
