What year was the first Chevrolet Suburban c1500 made?

I’ve always been a Chevy guy, and I’ve been thinking about fixing up a classic old model Suburban c1500. What was the first year it was built?

The first
Chevrolet Suburban c1500
rolled off the line in 1935.
Chevrolet’s
original Suburban could seat up to eight passengers and featured a removable row of seats for increased cargo space. Other features of the Suburban c1500 throughout its first generation included:
  • 60-hp “Stovebolt” inline-six-cylinder engine
  • Art Deco exterior design features
  • Increased to 79-hp
Today’s Suburban is quite a bit more than the 1935 version in pretty much every way. It can still comfortably haul eight people, but it now features:
  • An available 420-hp 6.2L V8
  • 22-inch wheels
  • Up to 27 mpg highway with the available diesel engine
As you prepare to trick out your class Suburban, remember to protect it with
