My local car dealership has a Chevy Malibu Limited LT on the lot at an amazing price. I’d never heard of a Limited LT model before, so I wanted to learn a bit more about it. What year did the first Chevrolet Malibu Limited LT come out?

The
Chevrolet Malibu Limited LT
is a bit of an anomaly in the Malibu’s historic lineup. The first and only Malibu Limited came out in 2016 as a way to sell old stock under a different nameplate.In 2016, Chevy completely redesigned the Malibu. Consequently, the new Malibu retained the Malibu nameplate while the old design was rebranded as the Malibu LT. While the two cars retain some similarities, the Malibu Limited LT has a few notable differences:
- Sole 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 197 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque
- Slightly smaller interior, but still boasts 115.8 cubic feet of interior space
- 4G LTE Wi-Fi coverage
- Bluetooth connectivity
- 7-inch touch screen with Chevy MyLink infotainment
- USB port for audio devices
One great thing about the Malibu Limited LT—or any other ‘16 Malibu Limited—is that you can usually get a great price on one compared to the redesigned 2016 model.
