Chevrolet Impala
is a worthy classic car! The first year of the Chevrolet Impala was 1958, although at first, the Impala was actually just a sporty trim added to the Bel Air coupes and convertibles. It then became a separate identity, or the second generation, in 1959. The Impala’s design was restyled over the next three generations, becoming boxier over time.This flashy classic car remained one of Chevrolet’s bestsellers with its over-the-top body size, engine power, and iconic styling. The redesign in 1965 (fourth generation) led to an all-time industry sales record of over one million units sold in the United States, and the momentum continued into the fifth generation from 1971 to 1976.
Starting from the sixth generation, when the Impala was redesigned once again to meet consumer preferences, this iconic car started to lose its exaggerated features. The new Impalas were downsized from 1977 onwards and became shorter in length, taller, and narrower than before. The era of the Impala’s classic look ended after 1985.
